The new Porsche 911 GT3 – the Nurburgring thrill

A year and a half after the onset of the next generation of Porsche 911, the Germans present the top of their creation: the new Porsche 911 GT3. It is an extreme version that loves curves, but we expect more powerful models in the 911 range. And, having the new Porsche 911 GT3 at this level (you will find more information below), I cannot wait to see how far will the developers go with the new Porsche 911.

It is good to know that the 911 GT3 can easily compete with a Lamborghini Aventador, beating it on a circuit with more than 3 turns. Do not confuse the new Porsche 911 GT3 with the 911 Carerra S, because it is modified more than it looks like. And we don’t mean only the fixed aileron, which is characteristic for 911 GT3. The engine, for example, is based on the same 3.8-liter unit boxer with 6-cylinder, but has only few components from the 911 Carrera S. The maximal power has reached 475 HP/8.250 rpm, and the ratio weight/power is 3 kg/hp.

The gearbox is a PDK one, but modified with some racing valences. It is for the first time that Porsche 911 GT3 is equipped with a new guiding rear axle (at a certain angle) in order to enhance the maneuverability at low speed and stability at high speeds. The rear axle has a locking differential and the 20-inch wheels have central gripping power. Well, the results are as follows: 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and 200 km/h in less than 12 seconds, top speed is 315 km/h. And the ultimate test - less than 7:30 minutes on the Nurburgring. Porsche 911 GT3 can be ordered starting with august, and the price for the German market is 137.303 Euros.
