The new Porsche 911 GT3 – the Nurburgring thrill

A year and a half after the onset of the next generation of Porsche 911, the Germans present the top of their creation: the new Porsche 911 GT3. It is an extreme version that loves curves, but we expect more powerful models in the 911 range. And, having the new Porsche 911 GT3 at this level (you will find more information below), I cannot wait to see how far will the developers go with the new Porsche 911.

It is good to know that the 911 GT3 can easily compete with a Lamborghini Aventador, beating it on a circuit with more than 3 turns. Do not confuse the new Porsche 911 GT3 with the 911 Carerra S, because it is modified more than it looks like. And we don’t mean only the fixed aileron, which is characteristic for 911 GT3. The engine, for example, is based on the same 3.8-liter unit boxer with 6-cylinder, but has only few components from the 911 Carrera S. The maximal power has reached 475 HP/8.250 rpm, and the ratio weight/power is 3 kg/hp.

The gearbox is a PDK one, but modified with some racing valences. It is for the first time that Porsche 911 GT3 is equipped with a new guiding rear axle (at a certain angle) in order to enhance the maneuverability at low speed and stability at high speeds. The rear axle has a locking differential and the 20-inch wheels have central gripping power. Well, the results are as follows: 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and 200 km/h in less than 12 seconds, top speed is 315 km/h. And the ultimate test - less than 7:30 minutes on the Nurburgring. Porsche 911 GT3 can be ordered starting with august, and the price for the German market is 137.303 Euros.

Alfa Romeo 4C – Passion “Made in Italy”

Alfa Romeo may be the most beautiful car, but only after the exclusive 8C. The new Alfa Romeo 4C had its debut in a serial version, only 2 years after the concept enjoyed its greatest success. Italian coupe was designed to delight Geneva; right now we can only see it in a few pictures. Alfa Romeo 4C is a quite important model for the Italians, both in terms of sales and image. After all it is the model that marks the return of Alfa Romeo brand in America! Alfa Romeo 4C looks almost like the concept it derives of, that means gorgeous.

It makes you think that Germans would never be able to design something like this. A lot of lines, bumps and typical Latin design created one of the most beautiful cars of the modern world. I love it, even though I do not understand why they had to include those integrated LED lights, which don’t really seem to fit into the general design. Alfa Romeo 4C is a coupe with 2 seats, central engine and rear wheel drive. And this is all. The body is made of aluminum and carbon fiber, so that weight does not 1 exceed 1000 kg. This is very little and extremely good for the dynamics, although Alfa Romeo 4C is less than 4 meters long.

The Italians have built for this coupe a 4-cylinder engine of 1750 cc, which is also to be found on the Alfa Giulietta QV, but with less power. Although the Italians give no statistics yet, this engine produces 235 hp on the sporty Giulietta, so we expect an output of about 300 hp on the 4C. When discussing the concept, the expectations were about less than 5 seconds up to 100 km/h and a top speed of 250 km/h. We will have exact information after its debut in Geneva.
